Quartz is one of my favorite jewelry components these days. All of those natural facets and beautiful finishes are amazing. Just look at all of the different finishes you can choose from! All of these quartz points begged to be turned into something wearable, and I wanted to figure out a way to create a necklace that used them horizontally instead of vertically. (Denise Yezbak Moore’s absolutely gorgeous Icicle Necklace is a great example of the way the points in quartz necklaces are often aligned.). Enter the Quad Quartz Necklace, which is simple to make and has a fun, earthy vibe. It’s the perfect finishing touch for your boho chic summer maxi dress.
A few weeks ago when taping segments for Beads, Baubles & Jewels I had a chance to tape a segment all about quartz, which included information on where it comes from to how all of the fabulous coatings are applied.

All the techniques you need to know to make this necklace for yourself are making a loop and opening a jump ring. And if you want to add a wrapped loop above the pendant or take out the clasp, it’s all good. The chain is long enough to fit over your head.
Let’s get this Monday Make started!
This project looks like a lot of fun. I think I will make it with my nieces this summer. Than you.
