Wednesday Make :: Back-To-School Teacher’s Keychain

Welcome to this week’s Make! It’s back to school time! I love to show appreciation toward the people who make a difference in kids’ lives everyday. Every teacher I know has a ton to juggle, and sometimes keys get in the way. Today you’ll learn how to make a great gift for your favorite teacher: a cute wristlet keychain to help her carry everything so she can ease into the year hands free!

You can make these back-to-school teacher’s keychains with Bead Gallery® beads in just about half an hour!

Let me introduce the stars of today’s project: Bead Gallery’s adorable owl beads! They come in all sorts of colors. I’m completely and utterly in LOVE!

Did you know a group of owls is called a parliament?

This week’s Make does involve a small amount of sewing, so if you can get access to a sewing machine, it’ll make it easier for you. All you need to do is sew two lines onto the 1-inch twill tape or cotton webbing to get started.

You can choose your favorite color–or perhaps your school color!–to make a teacher’s gift keychain.

I found all of the materials except for the beads to make this keychain at a local craft store. It was fun to see the sewing notions! I think the clasps and buckles section is my *second* favorite part of the store!

Thank you for joining me for this week’s Make! I’m looking forward to seeing what you make as well. You can follow us on Instagram or Facebook for even more inspiring beading tips and tricks!
