Pretty Palettes :: July Inspiration – Starry Night

There is something special about the starry night sky in July.

On a clear night it feels like you can reach right up and pluck a star out of the sky and put it in your pocket for later when you need a little more light.

If you live out in the country, away from all the residual light of a city, you really get a treat. There are beautiful colors in the night sky even when we think of it as inky black. It truly is a wonder to behold.

So this month, our challenge is to look up into the starry night…to picture yourself floating among those pinpricks light years away…to witness the moon and the stars in all their glory…to picking out constellations, or making up new ones…

So much sparkle, Erin!! Love your bead choices. I wish I could enjoy the stars more but the mosquitos are brutal right now. Ugh! Maybe the safest place in Minnesota to view the stars right now would be under a mosquito net! :)

  2. Lovely pick on all those beads inspired by such an amazing photograph :)
I would love to partner up with you Erin! The inspiration here is just awe inspiring…one of my favorite things is the sky…the brilliance, the many colors & moods, but mostly the happiness it brings and the vast possibilities that seem to circulate your minds – simply be gazing up at it. One of my favorite quotes…is simply “Look Up” :) – and that’s what this photograph reminds me of – a beautiful, mysterious palette of colors, which makes me feel very much at peace and that all is right with the world. Perspective – all in the way we look at things :)

I would love to join your challenge Erin! Just back from our place in the Adirondacks where the stars are so much easier to see. It always amazes me just how many I can see!

  4. I love beading, but haven’t been into it for years. I have so many old beads I need to use.
This site has given me motivation to try it again and hopefull use up the bead supply I have. Not counting all the money sitting there on the shelf in the pretty box that those things cost.
    Thank you

  5. Very pretty Erin. Love your choice of beads and colors…I live in the country so I can see the stars from my house. The only thing I would add, is when the moon is full and is just starting to rise, it is orange, then yellow, then white….I might want to incorporate those into my design also.

  7. Would love to work with this eclectic selection of beads. Nice choices!!
