It’s time to celebrate the beginning of a new year, fresh with a ton of potential. Did you make any resolutions this year? I made a resolution to try a few new beading techniques, like learning kumihimo. Are you familiar with this Japanese weaving technique? I think it’ll be a nice fit for me to incorporate my love of knitting with my love of beading!
If you’re new to Pretty Palettes, let me explain how to get in on the fun. I post a Pretty Palette here on the first Wednesday of the month along with the inspiration photo and beads to go along with the inspiration. Then people from all over the country get to play along by using the same Bead Gallery beads as I do (or supplementing with beads in their stash that coordinate with the theme). Mix it up! All beads are invited to the party! On the final Wednesday of the month, we all share our creations here on the blog. I’ll leave a linky for you to add your creation to the list.
Let’s get right to the January 2018 inspiration image. I can’t wait to show you all the pretties from the new Halcraft Collection website this month!
This image is the ceiling of a winery’s tasting room. I couldn’t stop looking at the sparkling orbs coated in glitter as well as the spheres that look like floating bubbles. It felt like a new year celebration above my head!
It wasn’t hard to find beads on our website that sparkled to go along with this theme. Here are the invitees to this Pretty Palette event (listed from left to right; click the link to pop it into your cart):
Bonus materials (both tassels come as a pair of earrings, so you get two of each!):
Here’s a video so you can see the Pretty Palette beads as well as the absolutely gorgeous bonus materials I found for this sparkling soiree! There’s seriously super sparkle in this one!
Now that you’ve seen the beads, get yourself to the Halcraft Collection website and look around a bit. I’m in love with the gemstone pendants and Wander Link connectors. I’ll see you back here at the end of the month for the big reveal, but if you can’t wait until then to get your bead fix, visit and join our new Facebook group! It’s a vibrant community of beaders who love to share what they’re working on and enjoy early bird notification on sales.
Until next time, happy beading!
