It’s time. It’s finally time!

Welcome to the Halcraft Collection
Pretty Palettes December 2017 Inspiration post!

Yes, I know you’ve been feverishly waiting at home, wondering how you’ll ever leave your house because the December 2017 Inspiration post for Pretty Palettes is. not. up. I offer you all my apologies–but before you get angry or throw that lap-full of beads you’ve been working with while binge watching holiday movies straight at your computer screen, just wait. I’ve got something wonderful in store!

You can shop the Halcraft Collection in our new online store!

With the Halcraft Collection now available online, I wanted to be sure to use our new selection of beads in this month’s Pretty Palette!

Hop on over and take a look around. We’re pretty excited about our new digs.

Now come on back and let’s get this month’s Pretty Palette blog hop started! This past November I had the opportunity to visit the largest privately-owned home in America. It was the home of George Washington Vanderbilt II: the Biltmore Estate. Found in the rolling countryside outside Asheville, NC, the Biltmore’s 178,926 square feet of space take you from this amazing atrium to a dining room with its own pipe organ to a bowling alley in the basement where a servant would reset pins by hand after each bowl.

The Biltmore Estate’s central atrium is filled with holiday decorations and flooded with light!

The entire day was filled with amazing sights. I just had to share this tree from the master’s bedroom with you. The lights on the tree flicker like candles and the gold leaf on the walls adds to the perfect warm glow.

After my walk through the main home & stables–it took about 5 hours to take it all in!–I visited the conservatory. Despite the fact that it was late November, I found it filled to bursting with blooms! And it’s where I found our December Pretty Palette.

Against the wall was the one of sweetest hearths I’d seen all day, even including the grand triple fireplace in the main dining room. It had dappled and peeling white paint, stark white orchids, lush green ferns, and the reddest poinsettias with evergreen fronds tucked in all around.

Every once in a while, it’s nice to be traditional with a holiday color scheme.

Let’s review the rules for all of you Pretty Palette veterans as well as the new folks!

  1. On the first Wednesday of each month I use an image to create a color palette. (Check and done, right? You’re here!)
  2. I choose coordinating beads from the Halcraft Collection, so we can all play along with the same beads to create a beading project (see the image below). That being said, if you want to create your project using beads you already have, that’s fine as well. We welcome all beads to the party!
  3. The final Wednesday of the month–December 27th–is the reveal. Visit the blog and use the link-up at the end of the blog post to add images of your own project to our collection of Pretty Palette projects!
  4. Peruse the collection of Pretty Palette projects by hopping from blog to blog or by checking out the Pinterest boards we create to share all of your amazing work!

Your Bead Gallery Pretty Palette beads are now easy to order online! I’ve listed them in order here; just clicking the link will take you straight to the product on our new site. Welcome & enjoy!

I tried to find the white oval open shells but it looks like the links brings you to an oval that only has a small opening? I’ve been looking for exactly what s pictured here and round open ones for years. Please let me know if you have anything like that. thank you.

I realized the same thing when I went into the website to find the links for you. I contacted the main office. I’ll let you know asap about which type you will receive when ordering. Thank you so much for your interest in Pretty Palettes!
      My very best wishes,

When you make your order online, would you specify that you would like the Pretty Palette shell bead? Our main office said that they have these in stock at this time as shown here in my blog post. Thank you so much for letting me know about that and getting in touch!
      Best wishes,

The palette is lovely–as are the beads that you picked out! I’m excited to play with these colors. :)

Jenny, I love them, too, & I can’t wait to see what you make! I’m curious about the white loops. They feel earring-y to me, but I’m just not sure quite yet.
All of my very best wishes,
