October 2017 Pretty Palettes Reveal
Welcome to the October 2017 Pretty Palettes reveal!
We’ve shifted from a warm and sunny week to an autumnal week, filled with scattered showers, and sun-laced moody clouds. It’s been a perfect change to get in the mood for this month’s Pretty Palette. Its coppery and black tones whisper the coming of Halloween!
Here are the Bead Gallery beads I’m working with for October’s Pretty Palette.
- Bead Gallery® 10mm black lava rounds
- Bead Gallery® 6mm brown swirl Czech glass faceted rondelles
- Bead Gallery® amber shell rondelles
- Bead Gallery® orange swirl Czech glass lentils
- Bead Gallery® orange glass bead mix
- Bead Gallery® copper plated diamonds
- Bead Gallery® 6mm amber mix faceted Czech glass rounds
- Bead Gallery® gray shell rectangles
- Bead Gallery® 10mm white lava rounds
Sometimes when I get theme-y as I have this month, it’s hard to create a project that feels wearable. This Pretty Palette is no exception. I love each of these beads individually, but as a set, I struggle to get them to work together.
To help me use most of the beads I have made two projects to share this month: one that is super Halloween-y and another with a copper glow that is understated but still memorable because it has a unique shape.
Let’s start with the more understated piece. This ladder necklace extremely long, grazing the belly button with its tassel. Faceted copper diamond beads form the ladder’s structure and seed beads add pops of that melon tinted orange that I love so much. The chain along each side is punctuated by a mix of beaded links.
I love how versatile this necklace is. Wrap the long chain once around your neck for a layered effect that gives the look of a choker layered over a tassel necklace, or just wear it long over your favorite black tunic. It’s easy to style!
What’s Halloween without a Jack-O-Lantern? These earrings use some of our fun Bead Gallery® pumpkin beads.
Jack-O-Lantern Earrings add a bit of fun to any outfit, and they are great way to be festive at work without a full on costume. Mix up the metals for a funky look or go big with the large orange pumpkin disks.
Now it’s time to celebrate you! Here’s your chance to show me what you’ve made! Place a link to your October 2017 Pretty Palettes project right here. I love to celebrate YOU! The linky will be open for a week, so even if your project isn’t finished today, you can participate!
